2023 Acura Integra vs 2023 Audi S3

Everyone knows that Audi makes excellent sports cars, but are they actually worth the money? There's no doubt that they make impressive rides, but Acura offers a greater value with the new Integra which brings both power and style to the table at a much lower price.

Performance

The new Integra comes with a rather simple yet effective build that most drivers would appreciate. That includes a 1.5L VTEC Turbo engine at 200 horsepower and the choice between a 6-speed manual and a CVT model to cater to every type of driver. Owners of the manual version can enjoy a special treat in the form of Rev-Match Control. However, those who go with the CVT version will have better mileage with 30 in-city and 37 highway miles per gallon. For an adaptive driving experience, the Integra has an Integrated Dynamics System with four distinct drive modes including Sport, Comfort, Normal, and Individual.

The new Audi S3 is capable of 306 horsepower, but you need to pay a premium to be able to get the best driving experience. And for the price, the fuel rating is a bit disappointing at a combined 26 MPG. As far as transmission goes, the S3 runs on a 7-speed S tronic system with a manual mode. It also has four drive modes including Comfort, Auto, Dynamic, and Individual. Side-by-side, both vehicles have a very similar build but one of them comes at a much more affordable price.

Safety Features

All new Acura vehicles come with AcuraWatch which includes all of the basic essentials that are designed to proactively keep you safe. That includes a Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow, Lane Keeping Assist System, Pedestrian Detection, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Traffic Jam Assist. You also have the option to include additional features such as the Blind Spot Information System, Rear Cross Traffic Monitor, and Low-Speed Braking Control. As you can see, a completely decked-out Integra has everything you need to drive with more peace of mind and a lower chance of any unfortunate collisions.

Compared to the Integra, the new Audi S3 doesn't have nearly as many features to promote safe driving. There's adaptive cruise control, park assist, and various warning systems, but the Integra proves to be more intuitive with the help of advanced technology that has won many awards for standing above the competition.

Interior

The interior of the new Integra is one of the most impressive things about this amazing sports car. When stepping into an Integra with the works, you'll be able to enjoy comfortable leather trim, heated seating, sports pedals, ambient lighting, and so much more. The 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster is fully customizable so you can choose to prioritize either your speed, drive mode information, and more. The available 9-inch infotainment screen and Alexa support let you access an ELS Studio 3D audio system. This premium sound experience involves an intricate placement of 16 speakers with two in the overhead lining and a subwoofer built into the cargo area. And lastly, the available Head-Up Display lets you view your essential information with ease, including AcuraWatch features.

The Audi S3 may be created for top performance, but that seems to be where most of the attention was focused during the design process as there's not much going on in the cabin. You have access to a 12.3-inch digital cluster, but the slightly larger screen doesn't really make up for the lack of other useful amenities. There's an available B&O audio system with 5 speakers, but the quality and speaker placement isn't as intuitive as the Integra's ELS Studio 3D sound system. The S3 also has a wireless charging pad.

Bottom Line

In some aspects, the new Integra and the S3 are neck-and-neck. They both have fantastic engine setups and a great number of technological features. One category that the Integra goes over the top in is safety with all of the available high-tech systems. If you wanted to go all-out with either vehicle by going with the highest trim level, the Integra A-Spec with the Technology Package has an affordable starting price of around $36,300 while the Audi S3 Prestige trim (which has the B&O sound system and HUD) has a high starting price of around $53,500. It goes without saying that the Integra is a much better deal.
