Luxury crossovers like the Acura RDX and the Volvo XC60 are both stylish and lots of fun to drive. They're sleek, powerful, and offer the latest technology. Which one is right for you, though? To help drivers in Westchase, Tampa, and Pebble Creek, FL, decide, the team at Maus Acura of North Tampa decided to see how they stack up in this 2020 Acura RDX vs. 2020 Volvo XC60 comparison.

Performance

The Acura RDX offers an exciting, performance-inspired drive. Underneath its aerodynamic design, you'll find a turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that gets up to 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) comes standard, but Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®) is also available.

Both options are controlled by a versatile 10-speed automatic transmission. While it delivers precise, efficient shifting, you'll also have the option to take control of the gears with standard Sequential SportShift paddle shifters.

The Volvo XC60 also offers All-Wheel Drive, but it may not be as much fun to drive. The standard engine is also a turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder, however, it can only get up to 250 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. On top of offering less power, the 8-speed automatic transmission isn't quite as capable as the 10-speed in the Acura RDX.

Infotainment System

To help you stay connected during your drive, the Acura RDX comes with a high-definition 10.2-inch screen in the dashboard. It features Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink®, so you can stream music or safely make calls. You'll also be able to hear and reply to your messages with SMS, MMS, and email compatibility. A mobile hotspot also comes standard, so you and your passengers can always stay in touch with social media and your emails.

In addition to streaming music from your phone, you can enjoy some variety with standard SiriusXM® Satellite Radio and HD Radio®. To browse safely, voice recognition comes standard, so you can switch songs, stations, and playlists without taking your eyes off the road.

The Volvo XC60 also offers lots of smartphone capabilities, including voice control and Bluetooth®. Its infotainment system may prove somewhat more difficult to use with its smaller, 9-inch screen.

Interior Dimensions

Both the Acura RDX and the Volvo XC60 feature seating for five with premium amenities. You'll be in for a high-end driving experience with leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and power adjustable front seats. You can even brighten up your drive with a panoramic roof.

The Acura offers slightly more space to stretch out, though. You can kick back and relax behind the wheel with 40 inches of front headroom and 42 inches of legroom. The Volvo may feel like a bit of a tight squeeze for some drivers with only 38 inches of headroom and 41.5 inches of legroom.
