There aren’t too many high-end manufacturers that offer affordable options for all to enjoy, but we know a couple of brands that do. Both being marketed as a low-cost entry point into their respective luxury brands, the 2025 Acura ADX and 2025 BMW X1 are two SUVs to keep on your radar. We have everything there is to know so far about these intriguing SUVs, brought to you by your friends at Maus Acura of North Tampa. 2025 Acura ADX vs 2025 BMW X1

You might be curious as to what luxury brands consider affordable. As long as the vehicle reflects the upscaled aesthetic of what these companies represent, we don’t expect them to be as cheap as your ordinary ride. Keeping that in mind, we’re pleased to see that the all-new 2025 Acura ADX (the first of its kind) will have an estimated starting cost of around $39,000. The new 2025 BMW X1 is slightly pushing it at $41,000 to start. Other than the cost, let’s take a look at what these promising new SUVs have to offer someone who is looking for a taste of the good life in a budget-friendly way:

Performance

One thing we know for sure about the new ADX is that Acura emphasized similarities to the Integra, including its engine. If you don’t know, that means the 2024 Acura ADX will have a 1.5L Turbo under the hood putting out up to 200 horsepower. It will also be crafted around a CVT system and offer available all-wheel drive. Since the ADX will have the same powertrain as the Integra, you can also expect similar mileage. But considering it’s an SUV (and therefore larger than the Integra), the fuel rating is likely to fall slightly short of 30 in-city, 37 highway, and 33 combined miles per gallon. It seems that if you’re a fan of the Integra, then you’ll also love its SUV counterpart coming very soon.

As for the 2025 BMW X1, it’ll be getting a 2.0L Turbo with 241 horsepower with the option to upgrade to a 312-horsepower version with larger brakes and an adaptive suspension system. However, the transmission system is a 7-speed dual-clutch that may feel a little rough and even clunky. Chances are, if you had the cash to spend, you wouldn’t be looking into an affordable gateway into luxury. If this sounds like you, it would be a better idea to go with the ride that offers better mileage for years of collective savings on gas trips. The ADX is better equipped for a more desirable fuel rating, as the X1’s build is more likely to use up fuel to accommodate.

Safety Features

The ADX may be an all-new vehicle we’ve never seen before, but there will be one familiar thing about it: AcuraWatch. The inclusion of this safety feature package on all new Acura vehicles isn’t stopping now, and that’s great news for soon-to-be ADX owners. Here is an updated version of what comes standard in AcuraWatch:

  • Collision Mitigation Braking System
  • Forward Collision Warning
  • Road Departure Mitigation
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Lane Keeping Assist System
  • Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow

That’s just what we know so far, and Acura is known for offering additional options to enhance your safety feature arsenal. Meanwhile, the new BMW X1 has a much shorter list of standard driver-assist features. X1 owners will have automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane assist, and parking sensors. The X1 may be an entry point into the luxury brand, but we can’t help but wonder where the “luxury” part begins.

Interior

The new ADX may have similarities to the Integra, but the design is also inspired by Honda’s HR-V which sports a similar SUV build. You can expect roughly the same size and curb weight but with the iconic touches of the Acura brand. You will most likely be able to choose your own sense of luxury between leatherette and microsuede trim, as well as an infotainment system with intuitive controls. Yes, we’re talking about the brand’s patented True Touchpad Interface! We couldn’t imagine a better welcome mat into the high-end lifestyle than convenience at your fingertips in the most literal sense.

We’re getting close to the official release of the 2025 BMW X1, and since there hasn’t been any news regarding updates to the interior, the situation is looking to be similar to the 2024 model which offers heated seats, ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, and a panoramic sunroof. Luxury brands are special because they’re iconic, but the features in the X1 don’t have a BMW aura about them. Unless there are substantial changes being kept under wraps (which is highly unlikely), it’s a bit late to be going back now.

Bottom Line

The 2025 Acura ADX promises a worthy entry point into the realm of luxury, and we strongly agree. $39 is a reasonable price to pay for a sporty powertrain, loads of advanced safety features, and an upscaled cabin with convenient tech. We’re looking forward to the ADX’s big debut, and we’re the place to experience history in the making.
