2025 Acura ZDX vs 2025 Cadillac LYRIQ
You asked, and Acura delivered. Finally, we’ll be getting an all-electric SUV with all of the brand’s iconic touches that make for excellent performance and luxury! The new 2025 Acura ZDX is built just like other SUVs by this famed automaker, but on an all-electric platform to save you on trips to the gas pump. What about the new LYRIQ? Cadillac threw in some gimmicks here and there, but nothing that quite stacks up to the intricate engineering of Acura’s dedication to performance.
Performance
There’s much to expect in Acura’s new ZDX model, like horsepower ranging anywhere from 358 to 499, record speeds, plenty of driving range, and all of the other driving enhancements that speak Acura. The ZDX Type S is said to make 0-60 in just 4.3 seconds, and you can get up to 313 miles on a full charge with the A-Spec rear-wheel drive ZDX model. With these specs, it’s clear why people say that the ZDX outperforms the Tesla Model Y. With the added boost in performance from the air suspension system, adaptive dampers, and Brembo brakes, there are no compromises in this new all-electric SUV!
For reference, read our article on how critics say the 2024 Acura ZDX Type S is a fun drive.
ZDX A-Spec RWD | ZDX A-Spec AWD | ZDX Type S |
Single motor
358 HP 313-mile range |
Dual motor
490 HP 304-mile range |
Dual motor
499 HP 278-mile range |
What’s going on with the LYRIQ? You can get as much as 515 horsepower with the dual-motor AWD model, and up to 326 miles on the standard single-motor model. That might sound nice, but the LYRIC is missing one crucial thing, and that’s the level of detail put into the car’s engineering. With Acura, you always know that you’re getting high-level performance with the build itself, like intuitive powertrain platforms and additional driving enhancements for a ride that feels more personal and connected to the driver. Meanwhile, the Cadillac LYRIQ is just like all the other EVs with slightly better specs.
Safety Features
Where these two rides are very similar is in the safety department. Both the new ZDX and LYRIQ offer basic driver-assist features like automated emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, and more. These two rides are even similar in the fact that they both support their own versions of hands-free driving technology. For the ZDX, you have the available AcuraWatch 360+ system. For the LYRIQ, you have the available SuperCruise package. We’ve tried AcuraWatch 360+ and have found it quite fun and nifty. If your area is supported, we know that you’ll have a blast trying it out for yourself!
Interior
Acura designed the ZDX with sport in mind, as they do for all of their vehicles. The quiet cabin interior encourages a peaceful drive in otherwise loud conditions. Leather trim is standard to evoke high-end indulgence. Dual-zone climate control paired with a heated steering wheel helps you get comfortable and in the mood for driving, even when the colder months would have you tensing up in the driver’s seat. Likewise, the panoramic sunroof is a welcome feature to have during the warmer months so you can soak in the beautiful outdoors. Getting into the more high-tech stuff, the ZDX proudly displays a wide 11.3-inch infotainment screen and an 11-inch digital driver display. Wireless smartphone connectivity makes it easier to connect to the 14-speaker B&O sound system.
Much of what the LYRIQ offers is just a fancier way of saying what the ZDX also has. For example, “Next Generation Active Noise Cancellation” could be dumbed down to a quiet interior which can be found in the ZDX. And while the LYRIQ offers available 8-way power adjustments for the driver’s chair, the ZDX doubles that to 16-way power adjustments. Cadillac is good at making things seem more grand than they actually are, but Acura values your respect by giving it to you straight with honesty in everything that they do.
Bottom Line
Cadillac will give you the run-around with the LYRIQ, framing it up to be the fanciest EV you’ve ever seen while hiding some of its faults. Acura stays true to its strengths and creates incredible cars like the new 2025 Acura ZDX which is a real embodiment of everything we love about the Acura brand on a reliable and stylish all-electric platform.
