Cadillac really tried to match the Acura MDX’s power but to no avail. The 2025 Cadillac XT6 barely makes 235 horsepower on its standard 2.0L turbo engine setup, and the upgraded 3.6L V6 still only makes 310 HP. This ride will need a lot more than that if it wants any chance of beating the new Acura MDX on the track.

Cadillac may have gotten the leather seats right in the new XT6, but everything else just feels like a step down from the gloriousness that is the Acura MDX. The 2025 Cadillac XT6 isn’t crafted for an immersive driving experience with its only highlight on the technology side being 8 Bose speakers. Mind you, the MDX Type S supports 31 high-quality speakers.

Every time we pit the Acura MDX against a competitor, we’re proven time and time again that Acura isn’t so easily dethroned. The Lexus TX couldn’t beat the MDX Advanced, and now, even the Cadillac XT6 has no hope of offering a better driving experience in North Tampa than Acura’s iconic ride.
