2025 Acura ADX vs 2025 Infiniti QX50
Acura presents the all-new ADX as their smallest and most affordable SUV as a gateway for beginner Acura owners into the fast-paced luxury lifestyle. After many test drives and critic reviews, the ADX is undoubtedly an excellent choice in the realm of attainable sports cars, albeit an SUV. The Infiniti QX50 may come at a higher price, and it might not be worth the extra cost.
Performance
Like the famous Integra, the new 2025 Acura ADX will feature a 1.5L Turbo engine capable of 200 horsepower. The ADX is built on a CVT system which helps with its affordability, with AWD being an available choice for those who need the added lift. Since it uses the same engine, we can safely assume that the all-new ADX will offer similar mileage to the Integra’s 37 highway MPG, if not just slightly lower due to the larger SUV frame. If you want a sporty car, the Acura ADX is for sure a worthy contender.
The new Infiniti QX50 may have the power, but it doesn’t have the reliability of Acura’s vehicles. The QX50 carries a 2.0L VC Turbo offering up to 268 horsepower, but the mileage suffers greatly at 25 combined MPG. The fact that it’s also built on a CVT system doesn’t help justify its higher price, so you’re really just paying for increased HP and severely decreased MPG. We believe the ADX delivers a fine balance between engine power and overall reliability.
Safety Features
You can trust Acura to watch your back with a standard safety package coincidentally called AcuraWatch in the new ADX. AcuraWatch includes everything you need like Automated Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane-Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, and Blind-Spot Monitoring. For being a performance SUV, we’re glad to see that Acura has our safety in mind with these useful features coming standard in all models.
Infiniti offers similar safety and driver assist features in the latest QX50 including collision mitigation, warnings, alerts, and cameras. Both sporty SUVs are well-rounded in the safety category which basically brings this section to a tie. However, the new Acura ADX is still ahead of the game when it comes to a practical driving experience which leads us to the interior.
Interior
Acura may be known for sport, but they’re also no stranger to luxury. The 2025 Acura ADX is equipped with everything that makes for a high-end yet functional interior. Leather and microsuede chairs prioritize your comfort in the utmost style while the panoramic moonroof lets the outdoors in with an expansive opening. Sporty elements are found throughout the cabin like a flat-bottom steering wheel and available stainless steel pedals. All of the tech you need is in the Acura ADX like a sizable 9-inch infotainment screen and an even larger 10.2-inch driver display. Wireless smartphone connectivity paired with a wireless device charger keeps you in the loop as you drive, creating a smooth and satisfying driving experience.
Upon closer inspection, it appears that Infiniti took the easy route when designing the latest QX50. The seating quality feels underwhelming for a higher-end SUV, and the panoramic sunroof feels smaller in comparison. It features a two-screen infotainment center, but the top and bottom display setup feels outdated compared to the widescreen panoramic layout that’s in most modern vehicles. QX50 owners may appreciate the available Bose audio system, but the 15-speaker B&O premium sound system in the ADX has more of a kick to it.
Bottom Line
As an entry-level luxury/performance SUV, the all-new 2025 Acura ADX is the perfect choice for those who want an all-encompassing experience for what they pay. Its mid-$30k price range is attainable for many, and you get to enjoy an upscaled experience in both power and cabin layout. The Infiniti QX50 is a bit pricier for assets that won’t be missed. Plus, you would be saving so much more in the long run with the ADX’s better mileage.
