Performance Specs
The 2020 Acura ILX runs on a 2.4L 4-cylinder engine. It delivers an exciting drive with 201 horsepower. This works with an 8-Speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT). To give you quick gear shifts and a smooth ride, the transmission also includes a torque converter. Plus, you can choose to take control and drive manually with Sequential SportShift Paddle Shifters.
The Mazda3 isn’t as much fun to drive. Its 2.5L 4-cylinder engine can only get up to 186 horsepower and the 6-speed automatic transmission isn’t capable of the same sort of performance.
Infotainment System
With a pair of monitors in the dashboard, the Acura ILX feels more like the cockpit of a jet than a car. The top screen can show you where you’re going with the Acura Navigation System. It can find the fastest route and guide you with turn-by-turn directions. It can even show you where you’re going with 3D View. Plus, with the Voice Recognition System, you can enter a destination without taking your eyes off the road.
You’ll also get to see what’s behind you when you’re backing up. Just put your car in reverse and the screen switches to the Multi-View Rear Camera

The Mazda3 also comes with Bluetooth®, text message capabilities, and a rear-view camera. While Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are also both available, the system can be tough to use. It crams all those features, and the available navigation system, onto just one screen.
Interior Design & Amenities
Acura ILX Interior Front SeatsInside the Acura ILX, you’ll find modern luxury and lots of comfortable features. Sport seats come standard with leatherette trim, but perforated Milano leather and Ultrasuede® seats are also available.
You can give the cabin a traditional feel with Ebony, Espresso, or Graystone colors, or spice things up with Red upholstery. Whatever you choose, you’ll be able to kick back and relax with a standard 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat.
The Mazda3 only offers sport seats on one trim level. It also comes with cloth seats and doesn’t give you as many colors to choose from. While a power-adjustable driver’s seat is available, it doesn’t come standard.
