But with the all-new 2022 Acura NSX Type S, Acura is putting the pedal to the metal with its second-generation mid-engine sports car. And they’re doing it with power, precision, and 600 horses under the hood!

Your friends at Maus Acura of North Tampa got to get a sneak peek at the all-new 2022 Acura NSX Type S for ourselves recently, and we lived to write about it! So today, we wanted to take a quick look at all the bells and whistles and racing performance and features you will find under the hood and inside this ultimate sports car by Acura!

The all-new Acura NSX Type S is an even higher performing car than Acura’s acclaimed sports car, and with this new upgrade, it gets an extra 27 horsepower over its predecessor. As a result, every 2022 NSX sold will be a Type S, and there will actually only be 350 of them sold worldwide, with 300 being sold here in the United States.

Performance

This all-new NSX Type S packs a whopping 600 horses under the hood and adds 16 lb-ft of torque to take it up to 492. It is powered by its twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 engine with three electric motors—two designed to power the front axle and a third that works in sync with the engine.

Price

Starting at $171,495, the all-new Type S is $12,000 more than last year’s NSX model. But there is a difference in styling and detail due to the fact that the Type S comes with a carbon-fiber roof, which was only an option before. A pricier Lightweight package also sheds 58 pounds via carbon-ceramic brake rotors and carbon-fiber engine cover and interior trim and will run you another $13,000.

Styling

With sharper, sleeker lines that feature more angular cuts on both the front and rear end of the all-new Type S, this car stands out amongst the crowded high-end sports car market.
