Reasons Why Your Engine May Be Overheating | Maus Acura of North Tampa

There are a number of parts inside of your vehicle that will work together to keep the temperature of your engine cool. If these temperatures get too high, this can cause problems that could be very expensive to fix. Some of the most common reasons for an engine overheating includes:
- A damaged radiator cap that is allowing air to get in or fluid to get out.
- Low levels of coolant, or bad quality coolant fluid that should be changed.
- The fan in your engine may not be turning properly to maintain proper air flow.
- An air pocket in your cooling system can affect the temperature. You can usually spot this issue from watching your temperature gauge or watching cooling fluid levels.
- A leak in your radiator can cause a drop in coolant levels. It can also change the air flow pattern in your engine.
